How a part time candle business led me to Key West!

I love Key West! I didn't know I did until I just decided out of the blue that me and my hubby needed a much warmer climate and a small vacation in the winter of 2010...

We decided we wanted something different and so off we went to Key West. I wouldn't have been able to do that if it weren't for my little candle business. This whole business started as a small second income for me and is growing into something big.

Check out the pretty house in Key West. We took the Conch Tour (that's pronounced KONK)which took us all over the city and the tales we heard are unbelievable!

Here I am ringing the bell near Mallory Square at the Shipwreck Museum. we walked up this tower way above sea level and could look out to sea and all around the square.

Of course, there is Margaritaville and Duval Street....need I say more...

Ernest Hemmingways home was a very busy place. Lot's of people taking the tour. We did too and got some great photo's....

And then there is the Cheeseburger in Paradise..I thought this was just another overpriced burger, well, it's not! It's very good and I enjoyed it with a Margarita...

Even the rainy, cloudy day didn't stop us from enjoying the sights...here is the most southern point in Key West...

We only put a small dent in the places here we could see. There are ghost tours, the duval crawl, boating, snorkeling, the Glass Bottom Boat, tours and all kinds of fun stuff to do. We will be back thanks to my little home business.....

Keep Reading and Learning Daily

I just found a box full of books to read at a sale that I would've paid a fortune otherwise. I am loving this! Here they are: The Aladdin Factor by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen. These two men are the bestselling authors of the famed Chicken Soup for the Soul books. The second book I found is the #1 National Best seller The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey. It seems like everyone in MLM is reading or has read this book. So I had to have it too. I guess what I am saying is if you have the opportunity to read and study from these great authors, you will learn so much. Don't try to change what has been successful. Use these people who have done this as your mentors and follow what they talk about in their books.

This one isn't as poplular that I know of but I found The MYTH of Tomorrow by Gary Buffone, PHD.

Here is one of the greatest books you will ever read. I actually read it when I first went into nursing classes. It is called Who Moved my Cheese by Spencer Johnson, Ph.D. It is a small yet valuable book that will make you smile and nod.

I am really looking forward to reading If I knew Then What I Know Now by Richard Edler. It is a compilation of CEO's and other smart executives that share some wisdom on what they wish they'd been told 25 years ago. Can you imagine the incredible information we can get from these successful people?

Do you take time to read every day? Do you take time to learn something new or review what you have already learned? If not, one of the most important things you can do for yourself is to learn and to read.

I just lit up a Honey Bee Vanilla gourmet candle. The scent is heavenly and I am ready to relax with a good book. Not sure which one I want to start first. Okay, I'm closing my eyes and pointing and the one picked is........(drumrolll)

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Have a wonderful night and until next time, no matter what you do, Make this the best day of your life.

Books to read

I find myself searching for good books to keep me inspired and it never fails that there are so many out there and I could spend a fortune on buying books. But I don't have a lot of time to read these days. That's my first mistake. I read somewhere to take time to read, no matter what. If you are in network marketing, take time to read from those who have been there. Read books, look at videos, listen to MP3's or recordings from the mentors who have already done what you are trying to do.

That makes sense. I really didn't want to spend a fortune on tons of books yet so I went to some swap meets, book swaps and thrift stores and I did find some of the classics and a few books that I thought would help me on my journey and I bought them at a fraction of the cost.

My first read was by Og Mandino, The Greatest Salesman in the World. Most internet marketers and salespeople worldwide know who this man is but I had no clue. He is a bestselling author and this book was first copywrited in 1968. It is a great story about learning a few simple principles that can change your life. I rate it an A+

The next book I read was a bit different. Called the Power of Passion, Acheive your own Everests by Alan Hobson and Jamie Clarke. What a powerful, insightful, moving story of their journey to climb Mt. Everest. Even if you're not a fan of mountain climbing, this book is very inspriational.

So now I am reading some books by Richard Carlson, M.D. about Sweating the Big Stuff and Don't Sweat The Small Stuff. I just love this guy, he makes me really think about so many things that just get in the way of progress.

What books have you been reading?
